Too Faced | Enchanted Beauty Foxy Neutrals Makeup Set | Tutorial & Review (with Swatches!)

Hey my beauties!

Today I’m doing a review (with swatches!) and tutorial for you of Too Faced’s Enchanted Beauty Foxy Neutrals makeup set.
It is one of two sets that Too Faced released exclusively at Sephora (and on their site).
Plus, if you order from Sephora's website you get free samples and a beauty offer!

You can watch my review and step-by-step tutorial here

As usual I waited allllll summer for Too Faced to release their winter season palettes. And I was so stoked to try these ones out!
If you follow me on Instagram or YouTube (if not, why not?) you have already seen a few looks I have created using these palettes.

But, today I am breaking down the Foxy Neutrals collection.

REVIEW & SWATCHES

A pretty foxy fox graces the box and eyeshadow palette of this set.
And she is decked out in crown and a string of pearls 🦊

Back of the box view 👀

The box is adorned with delicately embossed details giving it an extra feminine touch.

The gangs all here! The Foxy Neutrals makeup collection comes with an eyeshadow palette, face palette and a travel size of Too Faced newest mascara!

Pale pink palettes with silver embellishments and a metallic pink diamond cut inspired mini mascara makes this set as beautiful as it is useful 💖

There are 12 eyeshadows in various neutral shades and in multiple finishes. The face palette has a pearl highlighter and matte blush (no bronzer). No primer, or lip product as in past years with Too Faced winter collections, however this palette retails at a lower price than those past palettes, at $36.

EYESHADOW

The eyeshadow palette design is very similar to the box design with the strands of detailed jewels and the cute little princess fox. 👑👸

Admittedly, I am not as big of a neutral eyeshadow lover as I am of more colorful palettes (stayed tuned for the Unbearably Glam counterpart to this palette!) but there are some very lovely shadows in this set.

As the name of the palette indicates the shadow shades are of the neutral variety making them perfect for everyday eye looks: Zoom meetings, interviews, running errands (while wearing a mask of course, #maskup).
Or if you just prefer bronzes, browns, light pinks, more earthy tones this is the perfect palette for you!

There are 9 different matte shades, 2 shimmers, and 1 glitter.
There is an unusual amount of pinks for a Too Faced winter palette (5 to be exact).

Let’s look at each shade individually with some swatches!

Swatches

I look like a neutral shadow zebra 🦓 but these shades apply so lovely! They blend beautifully and last for a very long time.

Better Not Pout – Peachy-Cream with a matte finish
Last Christmas – Coral pink with a matte finish
Elfed Up – Watermelon pink with a matte finish
Chimney – Ginger with a matte finish

Claus Out – Bubblegum pink with silver shimmer
Lady Bells – Copper with gold glitter
Jingle Jangle – Tawny brown with a matte finish
Drummer Girl – Russet brown with a matte finish

Oh What Fun! – Light pink with a matte finish
Ginger Snatched – Orange red with a matte finish
Cookie Butter – Light bronze with gold & silver shimmer
Lump of Coal – Black with a matte finish

Stats:

Lasts for: Most shades last for around 8-10 hours
Fallout: A little with a couple of the mattes shades
Blendable: Yes
Chalky/flakey: A little/No

Pros: Smooth, buttery application that are great for blending. These shadows are easily built up to strong shades. The shimmers are lovely and the mattes are soft and don't apply patchy. The glitter shade (Lady Bells) is super sparkly and stays in place.

Cons: A little bit of fallout with mattes (especially
Lump of Coal (black matte) is a bit chalky and powdery. It takes several coats to get to pan shade.
Too many pinks.

Star Rating for Eyeshadows: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭑ (4 out of 5)
Would I by it Again: Probably Not - I don't use a lot of neutral shades

Final thoughts: These eyeshadows are a lovely texture, easy to work with and long lasting. Overall it is a really great neutral palette. There are really only two shades that I noticed any real drawbacks with (Lump of Coal and Jingle Jangle). I wish it had less pinks and maybe some earthy grays or greens even. But, if you are in the market for a neutral eyeshadow palette this one is a great deal!

FACE

Consistent with the rest of the packaging: glitter jewels wrapped around the palette ✨

No bronzer this year. Usually in the Sephora exclusive there is always a bronzer shade with the face products. Oddly it didn't make the cut.❔

A pretty good sized highlighter and blush, like they were actually considered and not just a quick extra add last minute in two slivers of product.

Frostbite – Champagne with silver shimmers and a pearly finish
Here for the Hos – Coral pink with a matte finish

Stats:

Lasts for: Both, Approximately 12 Hours
Smudges/Streaks/Runs: No/No/No
Blendable: Yes
Chalky/Flakey: No/No

Pros: Creamy textures to both blush and highlighter Both are also very easy to blend. The highlighter is pearly perfection: not too shiny, not to dull. The blush is the perfect shade for a wide range of skin tones.

Cons: I wish there was a contour/bronzer shade, but of the actual products I've noticed no cons.

Star Rating for the Face Palette: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 out of 5)
Would I Buy it Again: If it was sold separately, yes.

Final thoughts: Very lovely face products; the perfect amount of shimmer in the highlighter and a universally flattering blush.

MASCARA

Color: Black
Waterproof: No
Formula: Volumizing/Thickening
Wand: Hourglass
Smudges: No
Drying: No
Flakey: No
Lasts for: 10+ Hours

Pros: The thick formula of this mascara almost has a whipped consistency, sort like chocolate mousse texture. It gives lashes a plush boost of volume to lift them up and thickness that makes them look super full and luxurious.

Cons: The consistency is almost too thick in my opinion. Between the massive size of the brush and the formula, many lashes get stuck together with a thick coat of mousse. When I look at the formula it looks so thick that I just want to add water to thin it out (P.S. Do Not add water to your mascara it will ruin your product). The lower lashes are even more difficult to coat evenly.

Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭑⭑ ( 3 out of 5)
Repurchase: No.

Final thoughts: It definitely can add thickness to lashes, but it also sticks them together with a heavy formula. A lash brush used right after applying can do the trick in separating lashes. It is by no means a bad mascara, it just needs a bit of help to achieve everything it claims to.

TUTORIAL

You can check out my video tutorial here

Here is a little breakdown of the steps to create this look

1. Primer, Better Not Pout, Last Christmas, and Blend: I applied an eyeshadow primer all over my eyes, then brushed Better Not Pout (Peachy, matte) from lash line to brow bone for a nice blank canvas. I traced Last Christmas (Coral pink, matte) through the crease of the eye and winged it out just slightly, and blended it so the line was less harsh.

2. Jingle Jangle, Claus Out, Drummer Girl, and More Blending : I pressed Jingle Jangle (Tawny brown, matte) all over lid up to crease then I topped it with Claus out (Bubblegum pink, shimmer) also pressing that all over the lid. Then I took Drummer Girl on a small brush and applied it to the outer 'v' of the eye and blended all the edges.

3. Lady Bells & Cookie Butter -- Cut Crease: I took a small angled brush and damped it with water, to help pick up glitter, then dipped it into Lady Bells (Copper, glitter) and pressed it through the line of the crease of my eye creating a cut crease effect. Then I applied Cookie Butter (Light bronze, shimmer) to the inner corners of the eyes.

4. Lump of Coal and (more) Drummer Girl: I ran a thin line of Lump of Coal (Black, matte) along my upper lash line and winged it just bit. I used a flat brush to add more Drummer Girl but this time ran it through my lower lash line for extra definition.

5. Mascara, Concealer, Contour & Frostbite Highlighter: I coated top and bottom lashes with Too Faced's newest mascara that came with the set, then used concealer to clean up the little bit of fallout from one of the matte shadows. I ran a contour shade under my cheek bone. Then I brushed on the highlighter that came with the set, Frostbite (Champagne, pearl), to the high points of my face; tops of cheek bones, bridge of nose, forehead.

6. Blush, Powder Foundation and Lip Gloss: I blended the blush that came with the set, Here for the Hos (Coral pink, matte), around the apples and tops of my cheeks bringing together the contour and highlight shades too. I used a powder foundation under my contour line to give it more definition and strength. Then I applied a shimmery lip gloss to my lips.

Which gives us...

I couldn't just go with neutrals and mattes, I had to get a sparkly glitter in there somewhere 😉

It is still a wearable neutral look, with just a pop of glam thrown in there for good measure

ipsy | October 2020 | Glam Bag Review & Swatches

Hey Beauties!

I hope you're staying safe and healthy out there and wearing a face mask (not just the ones at home for exfoliating and moisturizing 😉 )
This year is wrapping up quicker than I can write it seems.
But there are some products from October's ipsy glam bag that are too good to go unmentioned!✍

Quick Stats:

Number of Products I'll Use Regularly: 5

My Overall Star Rating for October's Glam Bag: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭑ (4 out of 5)

Thoughts on October’s Glam Bag: Once again, incredibly pleased! Such a difference from the – honestly – disappointing bags over the summer.

1. BOBBI BROWN COSMETICS: Smokey Eye Mascara in Black

Brand: Bobbi Brown Cosmetics
Product: Mascara
Size: Mini
Name of Shade: Black
Color: Black
Waterproof: No
Formula: Lengthening
Wand Shape: Straight
Lasts for: 10+ Hours
Smudges/Flakes: No/No

Pros: It gives lashes super length and crazy definition! I didn’t know I had so many of my own lashes before I used this mascara. It fans out lashes and makes them miles long. It is called ‘Smokey Eye’ mascara, and I see how this pitch black mascara would be the icing on the cake to a smoky eyeshadow look.

Cons: None!

Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 out of 5)
Would I Purchase: Yes

Final Thoughts: Lashes are insanely long, defined and super dark thanks to this long lasting mascara!

2. COMPLEX CULTURE: Full Time Eyeshadow in Lavender Metal

Brand: Complex Culture
Product: Eyeshadow
Name of Shade: Lavender Metal
Color: Lavender
Finish: Pearl
Formula: Pressed Powder
Fallout: Minimal
Chalky/Flaky: No/No
Blendable: Yes
Lasts for: 8 Hours

Pros: This shadow is a pretty lavender shade with tons of shimmer. It goes on a light purple for a more subtle sparkle and can be built up to the deeper pan shade with a few layers. The finish is a lovely pearl effect where the shimmery sparkles are hit by the light just right. It lasts a pretty long time without creasing and doesn’t have too much fallout.

Cons: It does require a few layers of shadow to achieve the color in the pan.

Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭑ (4 out of 5)
Would I Purchase: Maybe

Final Thoughts: All in all it’s a pretty nice shadow. I wish the color pigment was a bit stronger, therefore needing less layering if you want the full purple shade. But it’s a very good pearl eyeshadow.

3. WE ARE FLUIDE: 7-Free Polish in Dapper

Product: Nail Polish
Brand: We Are Fluide
Name of Shade: Dapper
Color: Bronze
Finish: Metallic
Number of Coats to Get Bottle Shade: 1
Lasts for: Approximately 2 Weeks

Pros: The bronze-y color is a terrific fall/winter shade. The metallic finish is shiny and chic and it looks like there are finely milled golden flecks to add to the sharp metal effect.

Cons: It does start to chip after a little bit.

Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭑ (4 out of 5)
Would I Purchase: Yes

Final Thoughts: A gorgeous color that shines so beautifully you won’t be able to stop staring at your nails (careful driving lol). Some chipping, but an extra top coat layer can make it last longer without chipping. Overall, it is a really great nail polish.

4. LAURA MAKEUP LABS: Queen Blending Brush

Brand: Laura Makeup Labs
Name of Brush: Queen Blending Brush
Feature for Brush: Eyes
Feature I Use it for: Eyes, Under Eyes
Formula it Works Best with: Powder
Blends Makeup Well: Yes
Bristles Splay: None

Pros: The bristles are the perfect combination of soft enough to glide along the delicate eye area and firm enough to hold the domed shape for excellent color pick up and blending.

Cons: The handle is a little lighter than the average brush, so there is a little less control.

Star Rating
: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭑ (4 out of 5)
Would I Purchase: Yes

Final Thoughts: A truly functional blending brush that can also be used for placing concealer under the eyes. And the purple color gives it a fun pop!

5. LOTTIE LONDON: Slay All Day Liquid Lipstick in So Good

Brand: Lottie London
Product: Lipstick
Name of Shade: So Good
Color: Rose-Blush
Finish: Matte
Formula: Liquid
Smudges/Drying/Sticky: No/A Little/No
Lasts for: 7 Hours

Pros: This liquid lipstick is the prettiest rosy-blush shade of red that can be paired well with a more neutral daytime makeup look or more dramatic night out (in your dining room😂) look. It has a light, creamy, almost fluffy consistency and it smoothes on lips like a dream. It lasts for several hours even through eating and drinking.

Cons: Since the finish is matte there it is a tad drying on the lips.

Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭑ (4 out of 5)
Would I Purchase: Yes

Final Thoughts: Fabulous color with very decent staying power, a bit drying but that can remedied by wearing a lip balm underneath the color.

COMPLEX CULTURE: Full Time Eyeshadow in Lavender Metal

ipsy | September 2020 | Review & Swatches

Hi Lovelies!

Can't believe how this crazy year is flying by!
Here we are already reviewing September's ispy glam bag.
I'm actually excited about this one because the products are gold!👍

Quick Stats:

Number of Products I'll Use Regularly: 3

My Overall Star Rating for September's Glam Bag: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭑ (4 out of 5)

Thoughts on September’s Glam Bag: Redemption for ipsy! Finally! This bag has a majority of products that I will actually use. I can almost create a whole face look with just these five products.

September's glam bag is a bit two faced; a different color on each side.
This soft makeup bag is great for transitioning into fall shades.

Now, on to September's products!!!

1. BENEFIT COSMETICS: The POREfessional: Hydrate Primer

Brand: Benefit Cosmetics
Product: Foundation Primer
Size: Mini
Formula: Liquid
Skin Type It Works Best For: Combination – Dry
Lasts For: Approximately 10 Hours

Pros: This primer preps skin for foundation by creating a smooth canvas. You only need to use a small amount of this primer to create a sheer veil for the perfect base layer of your foundation.
It’s also hydrating, so although it keeps foundation in place, it won’t stick to dry patches or make foundation set unevenly.

Cons: My skin is acne prone and I think this made me break out a little.

Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭑ (4 out of 5)
Would I Purchase: No, but I would consider trying the original POREfessional Primer

Final Thoughts: A really nice primer that sets the stage for a smooth foundation application. It gives moisture and doesn’t cake foundation.

2. ITEM BEAUTY: Cheek Money in vibez

BrandItem Beauty
Product: Contour Powder
Name of Shade: Vibez
Color: Tawny Brown
Finish: Matte
Formula: Pressed Powder
Fallout: None
Blendable: Yes
Chalky/Flaky/Crumbly: No/No/No
Lasts for: 6-8 Hours

Pros: A soft, powdery brown shade that works wonders for sculpting your cheeks and jaw line.
It is a light color and can be built up to a more intense shade. Blends easily and leaves a beautiful dusting of color once it fades.

Cons: The super sheer pigment requires quite a bit of layering to be built up to a noticeable contour. It can fade a bit faster than the typical contour powder due to the lightness of the pigment.

Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭑⭑ (3 out of 5)
Would I Purchase: No.

Final Thoughts: The powder is very pretty and the light nature of the pigment would be ideal for anyone who likes just a faint trace of a contour or is just learning how to contour.

3. PIXI BY PETRA: Silky Eye Pen in Bronze Beam

Brand: Pixi by Petra
Product: Eyeliner
Name of Shade: Bronze Beam
Color: Bronze
Finish: Shimmer
Formula: Pencil
Waterproof: No
Smudges/Streaks/Runs: Not once it dries/No/No
Lasts for: 8+ Hours

Pros: This is a pencil liner but it glides on smoothly like a gel liner. It has the slightest hint of fine shimmer for a subtle sparkle. The creamy texture makes it great for blending and once it sets it last for hours!

Cons: Because of its soft texture less pressure is needed when applying and extra care is needed when storing or it could break and smear.

Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭑ (4 out of 5)
Would I Purchase: Yes.

Final Thoughts: Truly lovely eyeliner that is easy to apply and can be used as a smoky eyeshadow when blended out. Take extra care as to not break the liner tip.

4. SUNDAYS: Nail Polish in No. 18

Product: Nail Polish
Brand: SUNDAYS
Name of Shade: No. 18
Color: Brick Red
Finish: Glossy
Number of Coats to Get Bottle Shade: 2
Lasts for: About 2 Weeks

Pros: Gorgeous red polish that is perfect for any occasion; formal or every day.
This deep red polish has a beautiful glossy finish and it lasts approximately two weeks before any significant chipping starts.

Cons: None!

Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 out of 5)
Would I Purchase: Yes.

Final Thoughts: Excellent shade, long lasting color, shiny finish everything you could ask for in a nail polish.

5. TARTE: big ego™ mascara in Black

Brand: Tarte
Product: Mascara
Size: Mini
Name of Shade: Black
Color: Black
Waterproof: No
Formula: Volumizing
Wand Shape: Hourglass
Lasts for: 10+ Hours
Smudges/Flakes: No/No

Pros: This mascara gives lashes a fanned out, ultra volumized effect. The hourglass shaped wand catches every little lash and coats them with this super saturated black formula. This mascara is so fantastic I have worn it alone, without any other eye makeup, and it made my eyes look totally complete all on its own.

Cons: None

Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 out of 5)
Would I Purchase: Yes

Final Thoughts: "Big ego™", although I usually like my cosmetics with a bit more humility 😆, this mascara is absolutely fabulous! Lashes look full, defined, and totally natural.

And here are a few looks I created using September glam bag products:

ITEM BEAUTY: Cheek Money in vibez
PIXI BY PETRA: Silky Eye Pen in Bronze Beam
TARTE: big ego™ mascara in Black

TARTE: big ego™ mascara in Black
P.S. WEAR A MASK!!! 😷

BENEFIT COSMETICS: The POREfessional: Hydrate Primer (under foundation)

And that about wraps it up for September's glam bag!
ipsy definitely redeemed themselves this month in my eyes, so much happier with the products!

Thanks for reading and don't forget to subscribe so you will be the first to get my tutorials and reviews in your inbox 😉
