Captain America | Civil War | Makeup

Better late than never.
Captain America inspired makeup!

My favorite Avenger is Steve Rogers AKA Captain America.
One reason being I could always relate to the "nice guy" underdog personality.
Another being that I have a major crush on Chris Evans in or out of any movie
(have you seen 'Before We Go'? He directed and starred in it)...

... But I digress.

Navy blue shadow was fairly easy to come by.
Red eyeshadow is another story.
Fortunately, NYX is always there with an affordable option for the more extreme colors.

Red lipstick is a given, but don't shy away from giving it that extra Avengers' impact
with silver glitter (yes, you may end up eating some).

Probably not an every day look but might work great for seeing Civil War, out May 6th!

"I could do this all day" but I won't.
Civil War is upon us which side are you on?
Team Iron Man? Or Team Captain America?
Choose wisely.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more Marvel :)

How To: Apply Foundation

This past week pretty much spiraled out of control.
I don't know maybe it had something to do with turning a year older.
But no matter the reason, I didn't get to record the video that I planned to.

However, I did have a video from January that I never posted.

So I edited it and hoped for the best.

It's short (about 3 minutes), but is based off of a question from a friend: how do you apply foundation?
This is in no way the be all or end all explanation on foundation.
But it's what has always given me the best results.

 Video here:

Foundation application also depends on type, whether it be liquid, powder, cream, etc.
I touch on that a bit, my go to is liquid foundation.

Featured foundations:
Almay TLC in Ivory 120
MAC Studio Fix Powder in NW10
L'Oreal Tru Match Super-Blendable Compact Makeup in Porcelain-W1

Thanks for reading, I hope to have a chance to record
a new video this week :)

"That Girl" Inspired Makeup

This should've been posted yesterday but this flu has taken a lot out of me.

The classic sitcom about "That Girl" Ann Marie made popular by Marlo Thomas.

I don't have bangs and my lashes aren't quite as massive but you get the idea.

Big lashes, major cheek contour, and winged top and bottom liner were the key elements.

Products:

Sheer Cover: Eyeshadow in Bliss
Crown Brush: Deluxe Infinity Shadow/Crease Duet C476
Real Techniques: Base Shadow Brush
Sheer Cover Eyeshadow in Enigma
MAC: 217 Blending Brush
Maybelline: Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black
Sheer Cover: Angled Eye Liner Brush
Beautique: Defining Eye Pencil Black
Smashbox: Full Exposure Mascara
Eylure: Dramatic No. 202 Lashes
Urban Decay: Blackout Eyeshadow
Tru Rituals Dual Ended Eyeshadow Brush
e.l.f. Under Eye Concealer & Highlighter in Glow/Fair
NYX: Contour & Highlight Pro Palette
Real Techniques: Concealer Brush
Real Techniques: Buffing Brush
Luxie: 504 Large Angled Brush
e.l.f.: Blush in Tickled Pink
Sonia Kashuk: Synthetic Domed Multipurpose Brush - No 16
Victoria’s Secret: Beauty Rush Color Shine Gloss in Give Me More

Video:

Not an extremely lengthy post but I didn't want to skip a week :)
I think we'll deviate from the classic sitcom era for bit.
Next week I plan to do something different.
Maybe even something you will "marvel" at ;)

Thanks for reading!

Gilligan's Island: Mary Ann Inspired Makeup

Of course it wouldn't be fair to do Ginger's makeup without doing Mary Ann's.
And in spite of coming down with the flu while recording (had a major fever by the end)
I'm pleased with the end result.

Mary Ann's character was made popular by actress Dawn Wells

And pigtails. They worked for Mary Ann, not so much for me.
And I did not have red bows, so I improvised with wrapping paper ribbon.

Mary Ann was much tanner than I am (I only burn).
But she did have major highlighter under her eyes and on top of her cheek bones.
Although her look wasn't as glam as Ginger's, she still wore a fair amount of makeup.

I think one of the main keys to getting Mary Ann's wide-eyed look is using
a white liner on the bottom waterline and not connecting the black liner on
the top and bottom lash line.

The products I chose:
Urban Decay: Eyeshadow in Mushroom
Real Techniques: Base Shadow Brush
MAC: 217 Blending Brush
Urban Decay: Eyeshadow in Polyester Bride
Real Techniques: Deluxe Crease Brush
Starlooks: Luxe Longwear Eye Liner Pen in Black
N.Y.C.: Eye Liner
Beautique: Defining Eye Pencil Black
It Cosmetics: Hello Lashes Mascara
MAC: Pigment in Vanilla
Real Techniques: Accent Brush
Kiss: i-Envy Lashes in Paparazzi
e.l.f. Under Eye Concealer & Highlighter in Glow/Fair
NYX: Contour & Highlight Pro Palette
Real Techniques: Concealer Brush
Real Techniques: Buffing Brush
Model Co: Lip Enhancer Illusion Lip Liner
Avon: Extra Long Lasting Lip Gloss in Perpetual Pink

Watch the tutorial and my fever slowly climb:

And I did something a little different and made a video about the
bizarre and funny "national" days in the month of March.
Check it out:

Thanks for reading.
I think it's time to set sail from this island.
Fortunately it didn't take 3 seasons.
Hope to be back next week without the flu and with a new look :)

XOXO Brittney
