ipsy | April 2020 | Review & Swatches

Hi Lovelies!

Hope you're staying safe and healthy right now.
I’m slowly healing from my dental surgery. With the extra time I’ve had being laid up I have given April’s ipsy products a thorough vetting and I am more than ready to review them! 🦷

Quick Stats:

Number of Products I'll Use Regularly: 3
My Overall Star Rating for April's Glam Bag: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭑ (4 out of 5)
Thoughts on April’s Glam Bag: April may have brought showers but ipsy’s April glam bag brought me smiles (even though smiling hurt) 😆

ipsy's April glam bag is a pretty lilac purple and has lovely little flower accents around it. The cute wooden circle on the zipper also gives it a fun nautical vibe ⛵

Now for the #ipsyfullbloom April products!

1. ORYZA BEAUTY: Nude Shimmer & Contour Eyeshadow

Brand: Oryza Beauty
Product: Eyeshadow
Name of Shade: N/A
Color: Nude Bronze and Browns
Finish: Multiple (3 Shimmer, 1 Matte)
Formula: Pressed Powder
Fallout: None
Chalky/Flaky: No/No
Blendable: Yes
Lasts for: Approximately 8 Hours

Pros: This eyeshadow quad was my pick for April and I don’t regret it!
These shadows are great range of more neutral shades. The matte shade is great for contouring the eye around the crease. The shimmer shades are so vibrant they almost have a metallic appearance. No fallout and it lasts all day without creasing.

Cons: The plastic palette itself is a bit flimsy.

Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭑ (4 out of 5)
Would I Purchase: Yes

Final Thoughts: Gorgeous nude eyeshadows that brighten eyes with a subtle sparkle. Long-lasting formula that doesn’t smudge or flake.

2. ESTATE COSMETICS: Dew Me Baked Highlighter in Lit

Formula: Pressed/Baked Powder
Fallout: None
Chalky/Flaky/Crumbly: No/No/No

Pros: Super lovely highlighter that always seems to gives just the right amount of glow.
It is buildable, so you can have a subtle dusting or a more powerful shine. It doesn’t streak or cake and it lasts for several hours. My first time hearing of or using Estate Cosmetics and I’m very pleased!

Cons: None.

Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 out of 5)
Would I Purchase: Yes

Final Thoughts: Fantastic highlighter (and I’m not usually a fan of baked powders) that gives perfect shine and radiance to the skin.
Great staying power so there is no need to reapply throughout the day 👍

4. PUREHEALS: Propolis Softening Toner

Brand: Pureheals

Formula: Liquid
Skin Type It Works Best For: Dry/Combination

Pros: A very nice toner that gets rid of any residual makeup or dirt left on your skin after cleansing. It does leave skin feeling soft to the touch

Cons: It didn’t notice it do much to combat my blemish prone skin.

Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭑⭑ (3 out of 5)
Would I Purchase: No (already have a go-to toner)

Final Thoughts
: A very fine toner that cleans and softens skin. Definitely a great option if you are looking to add a toner into your daily skin routine.

5. ARACELI BEAUTY: Chiquita Blending Brush

Brand: Araceli Beauty
Name of Brush: Chiquita Blending
Feature for Brush: Eyes
Feature I Use it for: Eyes, Dusting
Formula it Works Best with: Powder
Blends Makeup Well: Yes
Bristles Splay: None
Pros: This narrow brush is perfect for blending in and around the crease of the eye. The rounded tip gives precision shadow application. Using a sweeping motion gently buffs and defuses eyeshadow.
It also works great for dusting loose powder under the eyes or highlighter around the face.

Cons: None.

Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 out of 5)
Would I Purchase: Yes

Final Thoughts: An excellent blending brush that has multiple uses. The soft bristles make it super easy to blend shadows and products and to create everything from a “no makeup” look to an intense smoky eye look.
