Esme | The Carnivorous Carnival | A Series of Unfortunate Events | Makeup

Dear Reader,
Before you click off this awful blog post and navigate as far away from it as possible, you should probably know why.
This is my only post that describes every last detail of Esme Squalor's makeup while performing at Caligari Carnival, which makes it one of the most dreadful posts in the world.
There are many pleasant things to read about but this post contains none of them

(Paraphrased from Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events Book The Eighth: The Hostile Hospital)

This week's dose of makeup misery is of Esme Squalor in The Carnivorous Carnival.
Red and gold are the dominate colors of her makeup and attire in this episode.

What Will We Need?

1. Plummy Red & Shimmery Gold Eyeshadows: A red shadow 2/3 across the lid and a gold pigment on the remaining 1/3 and inner corners gives the base for Esme's eye makeup.
2. Smooth Black Liner, Jet Black Mascara & False Lashes: Glide on a thin line of slick black liner across the top lash line, swipe on two coats of super dark mascara to the top and bottom lashes, and apply dramatic full lashes to add to the carnival mystique.
3. Off-White Pigment, Red Blush & Bronzer/Highlighter: Take away some of the brassiness of the gold by adding an off white pigment over it to achieve Esme's eyes. Use a true red blush to saturate the apples of the cheeks (subtle? Not so much). Highlight the top of the cheekbones and under the eyes. Sculpt with the bronzer shade below the cheekbone and curve up.
4. Red Lipstick & Extra Gold Pigment: A cranberry red lipstick and a little extra gold pigment dabbed on the bottom lip completes Esme's over-the-top look.
