San Francisco 49ers Makeup Look

2023 Update:

It's game day! (Depends when you read this)
I originally posted this makeup look in 2014.
But in honor of the San Francisco 49ers playing in the Conference Championships this weekend, I decided to give it a little update 😁

First let's talk about colors we will need to work with for a 49ers inspired makeup look

Red, gold, and white are the team colors for the San Francisco 49ers.
So, our color palette will consist mainly of these three shades, along with a few base colors.
You want to go with a vibrant red, leaning towards scarlet.
A super pigmented yellow-gold is the only way to go for this look.
And a pure white shade to highlight and pull the rest of the colors together.

These are the products I used to create my 49ers look.
As mentioned above, I originally created this look in 2014 so some of the products may have been discontinued.
But, I will try to add comparable dupes you can use to achieve a similar look.

1. Prep Skin: I used Almay TLC Foundation in 120 Ivory all over my face to get a smooth canvas to work on.
Then I primed my eyes with Elf Cosmetics eyelid primer so the eyeshadow shades would last longer and stand out more vibrantly.

Both products are still available in 2023.

2. Golden Eyeshadow: Using a flat brush (MAC 239) I pressed Maybelline Color Tattoo pure pigments in Wild Gold onto my eyelids.

The Maybelline shadow has been discontinued.
But a very close option is Colourpop's Super Shock Shadow in "Blogger"
It is pressed powder instead of loose.
A really nice, affordable dupe at about  $7

3. Red Eyeshadow: Next, using a crease brush I swept NYX Primal Colors in Hot Red through the crease and diffused it with a blending brush (MAC 217).
I continued to blend and build the color until I got a shade similar to the 49ers red.

NYX Primal Colors in Hot Red has been discontinued, which is truly disappointing because it is one of the best red pigments for creating avant garde makeup looks.

A similar shade is MAC Cosmetics Powder Kiss Eyeshadow in Werk, Werk, Werk.
A little more pricy at around $23.
But it is also a matte red

Using a metallic gold Ulta eyeliner I lined the outer rim of my eyes.
And used a black Almay pencil on the inner rims.
Urban Decay Polyester Bride white shadow on the brow bone.
Topping the eyes off with Urban Decay's Perversion mascara.

The look wouldn't be complete without red lipstick;
Revlon Color Stay Overtime Lip color in Forever Scarlet.

And a little bit of a red flush from Mirabella Lip and Cheek Ink.

Not the most wearable look but still very fun to create :)

Make Your Mark - Lipstick Look

Make Your Mark lipstick look

Tip: To get even color lines (mine are slightly off, oh my OCD kills me)
use a white lip or eye liner to draw straight lines in the middle of your upper and lower lip.

Used these colors

NYX Extra Creamy Round Lipsticks in NYX, Chloe and Narcissus.
L'Oreal Infallible Le Rouge Lipstick in Target Red.

Thanks for checking out my new look :)

Quick Look with Urban Decay Shadows

Just a quick eye shadow look :)

My weapons of choice:

The deluxe crease brush is too big for the crease of my eye
so I use it for highlighting the brow bone.

I put Hijack (turquoise-y color) all over my lids with the base shadow brush.
Then I put Lost (Copper color) halfway through the crease and on the outer corner.
With a MAC 217 brush I blended Lost in the crease and outer edge into Hijack for a seamless transition.
I applied Skimp (cream color) to the brow bone, blended it with Lost.
And finished with a coat of Ulta mascara.

This look also included Almay TLC foundation in ivory.
A little line of Maybelline Eyestudio gel liner in blackest black.
And Smooth Criminal powder by Be a Bombshell Cosmetics,
which is a beautiful finishing powder that is pure white but disappears once it's blended.
