Glitter Party Makeup

Looking for a fun, affordable glitter look?
Sally Girl has the answer.

Starting with this gel adhesive, which is about 99 cents.
It's not gooey or sticky but it really holds the glitter on.

There are multiple glitter colors to choose from.
These are also 99 cents (or less) each.

I used gold for my look.
There can be fallout but it is easy to correct (see video below).

Added a little extra sparkles in editing lol.

The rest of the products I used:
Elizabeth Mott: You're So FINE Liquid Eyeliner in Glitterati
Sally Girl Eyeshadow in Snow
Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara
Maybelline Concealer in Fair

Here is the video tutorial:

This glitter stays on for a loooooong time!
I applied it at 2 in the afternoon and at midnight it was still going strong, maybe just a little fallout.
Super impressed with such an affordable product!

Pretty Little Liars - Aria Makeup Look

This was my tool box for the look:

ELF Contouring Blush & Bronzer
MAC eyeshadow in Steel
Urban Decay eyeshadow in Oil Slick
MAC Pro Longwear in NW15
MAC Pigment in Vanilla
Maybelline Concealer in Ivory
L.A. Colors Lashes
Beautique Eyeliner in Black
Urban Decay Perversion Mascara
Urban Decay Naked Lip gloss in Beso

Starting with Steel from MAC I blended this onto the lid and slightly into the crease.

Next taking the black pencil I traced my upper and lower lash lines (inner and outer).
Don't worry about being too neat because next we take the black shadow and smudge it over the liner.

Since Lucy's (Aria's) eyes are quite round in the opening scene, and mine are not, I took the black all around the eye. Take it through the crease and concentrate the black under the eye but thinning it out as you reach the tear duct.

She also has a cute round face. My shape is more oval, so I was aiming for the opposite of contouring.
I didn't want to slim my cheeks, I wanted them fuller.
So I took the contour color a bit further down than the cheek bone and applied in sort of a "C" shape.
Then I blended it in and applied blush above it with a fluffy brush.

Finishing up with the white pigment in the inner corners and brow bones.
Apply the lashes and finish with lipgloss.

That's my Pretty Little Liars opening theme look.
I recorded a video of myself creating the look and will share it on YouTube once I'm done editing.

Kisses,

Blue Glitter Eyeshadow

Hello Beautiful people!
I know last week I promised a popular TV star's look but I haven't found the exact lashes yet (OCD problems).
But have no fear, I have another look for you :)

Products:

I've had this ELF palette for a while, they always have such fun colors and are super affordable.
L`Oreal eyeshadow in Satin Tutu (they've changed the packaging since I got this)
My go to gel liner by Maybelline Eyestudio
Almay eyeliner pencil
And StarLooks lip gloss in Guilty Pleasure. A terrific gloss with nice color and a vanilla scent.
Forgot to put it in the picture but I used Avon Extra Lasting Mascara.

Tools:

I used the Tru Rituals brush to pack on the blue shadow. To get the right intensity I pressed the color on.

There is fallout with some ELF shadows, but tapping off the brush before applying helps cut down on this.

Please excuse the blemishes, courtesy of my stressful classes.

I love glitter!

Love eyeliner

Not a long post because I had to work on finals, but there is more to come :)

Sunday Morning Makeup

A quick little look of my Sunday makeup

The liquid liner, lip color and highlighter came in my November Ipsy bag!

For the shadow I used my Ulta quad (also available in singles)
Icelandic (shimmery white) on the brow bone.
A mixture of Twilight (smokey purple-gray) and Lock & Key (matte gray-brown) on the lids.
And After Hours (shimmery burgundy) across the crease and outer V.

(Forgive the tired look, it was a long weekend!)

Love the You're So FINE liquid liner from Elizabeth Mott in Glitterati! The tip is so thin, it's easy to get the desired effect.

L.A. Colors Chunky Lip Pencil in Wine is my new favorite lip color! It goes on soft and smooth like a lipstick but it dries matte like a stain. Lasts for hours and has a slight scent of vanilla.

Temptu Pro S/B highlighter in Pink Pearl is difficult to make show up on my skin in pictures because, as with any highlighter, you don't want it to shine at all times, just when the light hits it right for a subtle glow.
I think this brand is ideally meant to be used with an airbrush, but I just used my ring finger to apply it to my cheek bones. Worked brilliantly!
I finished it all off with my Calvin Klein ck One Mascara in True Black.

That's my little Sunday look.
Next Week's look is inspired by a very popular TV show character.
Stay tuned!

San Francisco 49ers Makeup Look

2023 Update:

It's game day! (Depends when you read this)
I originally posted this makeup look in 2014.
But in honor of the San Francisco 49ers playing in the Conference Championships this weekend, I decided to give it a little update 😁

First let's talk about colors we will need to work with for a 49ers inspired makeup look

Red, gold, and white are the team colors for the San Francisco 49ers.
So, our color palette will consist mainly of these three shades, along with a few base colors.
You want to go with a vibrant red, leaning towards scarlet.
A super pigmented yellow-gold is the only way to go for this look.
And a pure white shade to highlight and pull the rest of the colors together.

These are the products I used to create my 49ers look.
As mentioned above, I originally created this look in 2014 so some of the products may have been discontinued.
But, I will try to add comparable dupes you can use to achieve a similar look.

1. Prep Skin: I used Almay TLC Foundation in 120 Ivory all over my face to get a smooth canvas to work on.
Then I primed my eyes with Elf Cosmetics eyelid primer so the eyeshadow shades would last longer and stand out more vibrantly.

Both products are still available in 2023.

2. Golden Eyeshadow: Using a flat brush (MAC 239) I pressed Maybelline Color Tattoo pure pigments in Wild Gold onto my eyelids.

The Maybelline shadow has been discontinued.
But a very close option is Colourpop's Super Shock Shadow in "Blogger"
It is pressed powder instead of loose.
A really nice, affordable dupe at about  $7

3. Red Eyeshadow: Next, using a crease brush I swept NYX Primal Colors in Hot Red through the crease and diffused it with a blending brush (MAC 217).
I continued to blend and build the color until I got a shade similar to the 49ers red.

NYX Primal Colors in Hot Red has been discontinued, which is truly disappointing because it is one of the best red pigments for creating avant garde makeup looks.

A similar shade is MAC Cosmetics Powder Kiss Eyeshadow in Werk, Werk, Werk.
A little more pricy at around $23.
But it is also a matte red

Using a metallic gold Ulta eyeliner I lined the outer rim of my eyes.
And used a black Almay pencil on the inner rims.
Urban Decay Polyester Bride white shadow on the brow bone.
Topping the eyes off with Urban Decay's Perversion mascara.

The look wouldn't be complete without red lipstick;
Revlon Color Stay Overtime Lip color in Forever Scarlet.

And a little bit of a red flush from Mirabella Lip and Cheek Ink.

Not the most wearable look but still very fun to create :)

Make Your Mark - Lipstick Look

Make Your Mark lipstick look

Tip: To get even color lines (mine are slightly off, oh my OCD kills me)
use a white lip or eye liner to draw straight lines in the middle of your upper and lower lip.

Used these colors

NYX Extra Creamy Round Lipsticks in NYX, Chloe and Narcissus.
L'Oreal Infallible Le Rouge Lipstick in Target Red.

Thanks for checking out my new look :)
